Hi, I'm Jay!

My name is Jay Filer. Currently, I am a tattoo artist in a private studio in Bloomington, IN. I am also non-binary and use they/them/theirs pronouns. I have many artistic inspirations that influence my work. I love art nouveau, vintage floral designs, script, and more. I also love to use references from the world around me to make custom designs. Don't be shy to run whatever ideas you have my way. Outside of tattooing, I recently completed my Master's in Mental Health Counseling at Indiana University. I also enjoy creating digital art pieces, vending at local art markets, haunting local coffee shops, and caring for my cats: Mouse(rat) and Nami.

I have considered myself an artist for my entire life. I've explored a number of mediums over the years, and have really found my groove with tattooing. I started tattooing in August of 2022. First, I explored handpoking, then later transitioned to a machine and handpoke hybrid style. I am excited to learn more about the art form as I continue my tattooing journey!
